  Katie McCabe Staff Questionnaire Preschool Director Ms. McCabe is so excited to begin her 8th year as the preschool director. She has a BA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!) and a MA in Education through NIU. She loves working with young children because they ensure that every day is exciting. She lives in Lake in the Hills with her 2 dogs. She is also a sales leaders with lia sophia, loves to read, and be with her friends and family in her spare time!  Linda Pence Staff Questionnaire Teacher This is Mrs. Pence's 6th year teaching at the Preschool. She says it is her goal to help the children develop strong thinking skills, by exposing them to expressive, communicative and cognitive experiences. Mrs. Pence has a BA in Elementary Education from Lynchburg College, VA and early childhood education has been her passion for over 25 years. Mrs. Pence lives with her husband, Steve and has two adult sons: Oliver lives in Cary and Adam lives in Portland, OR. Besides loving her time at the Preschool, Linda enjoys her book club reading, visiting family and taking walks with her two grand dogs.  Jan Calahan Staff Questionnaire Teacher Mrs. Calahan is excited to be returning for her 2nd year at FUMC Preschool. She has been a preschool teacher for 8 years and loves bringing her creativity into the classroom and makes learning fun through games, stories, and music and movement. She has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Cincinnati where she grew up and currently lives in Crystal Lake with her husband, two daughters, and dog. She enjoys walking, reading and scrapbooking.  Lisa Morrissey Staff Questionnaire Co-Teacher This will be Mrs. Morrissey's 5th year at the preschool and she is very excited about it. She lives in Crystal Lake with her husband of 22 years and her 4 children. Two of her children are past students of the preschool. She has many years of experience working with young children as a Religious Education Teacher, a VBS teacher and an elementary school parent volunteer. In addition, she has logged several hours of training in Early Childhood Education. In her free time, she enjoys walking, reading and spending time with her family. She loves being part of the preschool family.  Mary Grischow Staff Questionnaire Co-Teacher Mrs. Grischow is very excited to start her 5th year at our preschool, where she will now move into a lead teaching role. She has a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. Mrs. Grischow has extensive experience as a substitute teacher, a Sunday School instructor and a VBS volunteer. She has been married for 21 years to a Lieutenant with the Crystal Lake Fire Dept. Mrs. Grischow lives in Woodstock with her husband, three children, cat, and dog.  Carol Anderson Staff Questionnaire Teacher Mrs. Anderson is thrilled to be joining our preschool staff. She is very passionate about the importance of early childhood education in assisting towards the success of today’s young individuals and believes that establishing & nurturing Christian values in our youth is vital for the development of a well-adjusted life. She feels teaching young children is an honor and privilege. Children are such a wonderful blessing filled with joy, love, and adventure. She has lived in Crystal Lake for 25 years with her husband and two children and enjoys reading, traveling and most importantly spending time with her family and friends. |
  Gay Lynn Daniel Staff Questionnaire Assistant Director/ Teacher This is Mrs. Daniel's seventh year at our preschool. Her own children had attended our preschool and she is a member of our church. She has a degree in Early Childhood and has worked in the field for many years. She has been married to her best friend Bill for 29 years and has been blessed with four beautiful children. She is so happy to be part of our wonderful staff and to be able to do what she loves everyday.  Tracy Nasternak Staff Questionnaire Co-Teacher Mrs. Nasternak is thrilled to be returning for her 2nd year to our preschool staff. Her children attended the preschool and she is a member of the church. She earned a BA degree from North Central College in Naperville. She has been a Sunday School teacher, VBS teacher and a substitute teacher. She lives in LITH with her husband, Scott and 3 children. She looks forward to seeing all the cute, smiling faces of your children and helping them grow in a nurturing environment.  Carol Dlesk Staff Questionnaire Teacher Mrs. Dlesk is excited to venture into her 3rd year at the preschool. She has a BS in Elementary Education from The University of Iowa and a MA in Education from The University of Illinois. She has taught pre-school through sixth grade in her twenty years of teaching. She lives in Crystal Lake with her husband, three children, dog, lizard, and 2 cats. She enjoys gardening, reading, and outdoor activities. She is excited to be part of the wonderful program at First United Methodist Preschool.  Janet Behning Staff Questionnaire Co-Teacher Mrs. Behning is excited to return for her 2nd year as part of our preschool staff after several years as one of our preschool substitute teachers. She comes to us with an associates degree in Food/ Nutrition and Child Development. Mrs. Behning lives in Woodstock with her husband and five children. She enjoys walking, baking, and supporting her kids in all of their activities!  Carol Braun Staff Questionnaire Co-Teacher Mrs Braun is looking so forward to joining our staff. She has been working with preschool children for the past seven years and feels very blessed to have met such wonderful families. She feels it such a joy to come to work each day to enjoy all the fun and excitement the children bring to each day. She has helped with VBS at her church and lives in McHenry with her husband Wally who is her best friend and her three sons Joshua, Steven and Timothy who she is so very blessed to have. She also keeps very busy with the three cats and four dogs in the house, yes needless to say she loves animals too. She is very excited to start the new year and to meet all those smiling faces! |
